Job Description

Once Inc. (ONCE) is a global leader and innovative developer of agricultural-specific animal-centric LED lighting systems and bio-security products. Headquartered in Plymouth, Minnesota, the fast-paced company is seeking an independently driven and self-reliant trade show booth builder to support two trade shows at the beginning of 2019. Reporting directly to the Marketing Manager, the person hired should have a construction, maintenance or similar background and a strong attention to detail. They need to be flexible and manage change well, while having the ability to be creative when solving issues that arise before and during the trade show.

ONCE takes pride in creating elaborate trade show booth designs that market their technology in a unique way. Whether the booth features a miniature window display or larger, interactive display, new innovations are always being added.

General Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Assist with organizing and unpacking previous trade show booth displays
  • Be the go-to when additional display items are needed
  • Create customized and professional roofs for individual barn displays
  • Utilize existing trade booth supplies to “refresh” display
  • Recommend budget friendly solutions when issues arise
  • Establish logistics for getting trade show booth to and from trade shows, driving 26 ft truck, packing, building crates, etc.
  • Work with mechanical engineer to develop floor plan

Trade Show Details and Schedule

International Production & Processing Expo, February 12-14, 2019 in Atlanta Georgia

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist with preparation and booth set-up in Plymouth, MN warehouse prior to show (schedule is flexible)
  • Tear down and pack trade show booth prior to show (2-4 weeks before)
  • Work with Marketing Manager to create and organize set-up and tear-down process for the team
  • Drive 26’ truck from Plymouth, MN to Atlanta, Georgia and back for trade show (leaving February 6-7, returning February 15-18, depending on facility schedule)
  • Set-up booth at show, February 9-11
  • Be on-call for last minute booth issues during show
  • Tear-down booth at show, February 14
  • Upon returning to warehouse in Plymouth, MN, unpack trade show booth, preparing for next show
  • Return rental truck (date depends on return day)

Midwest Poultry Federation Convention, March 13-14, 2019 in Minneapolis, MN

Responsibilities Include:

  • Pick-up rental truck to pack booth display (March 4-8, 1 week before show)
  • Drive 26’ truck from warehouse in Plymouth, MN to Minneapolis Convention Center (morning of March 11)
  • Without the assistance of the Marketing Manager, independently work with the team to repeat booth display at Minneapolis Convention Center (March 11-12), setting up artwork and ensuring display represents an even better and more professional looking display that previous booth 3-weeks earlier
  • Be on call for last minute booth issues during show
  • Tear-down booth at show, March 14 (3pm -?)
  • Return booth to warehouse, unpack and return truck to rental facility (March 15)

The person hired should:

  • Be a leader to team when building booth at the show
  • Be motivated, work at a fast and efficient pace and able to set the same, fast pace when time is sensitive
  • Have high attention to detail and take some pride in the work they do
  • Work and adapt well under stressful situations and changes
  • Advise better solutions to be more efficient and make the booth look better
  • Understand the basics of building a standing structure (The existing booth display will be made of giant (12″ wide x 6″ tall) lego-like blocks)


  • Knowledge in electrical logistics (a plus)
  • Proven experience performing similar work
  • Good communication skills
  • Must be able to travel to Atlanta, GA trade show
  • Must be okay signing Contract for Services agreement
